Basic Tower Climbing and Rescue training is a working at height course codesigned to support the safety of those individuals who work on towers and masts in the telecommunications and broadcast industry. This is designed for use with first-time climbers and offers an introduction to basic tower climbing and rescue.  This tower climbing and rescue training will be delivered over 3 consecutive days where both knowledge and practical elements are assessed.

Course Content

Developed in collaboration with the industry “Mast and Tower Safety Group, the scheme standards detail the skills and knowledge required to climb towers and masts competently and safely. The Basic Tower Climbing and Rescue training scheme consists of two parts: an initial 3-day training programme, plus a mandatory 1-day annual renewal course. The scheme covers the minimum training, as well as the assessment required for those working safely on masts and towers. 

 

Assessment & Certification

This course is developed by EUSR in collaboration with the industry “Mast and Tower Safety Group”. You will recieve an EUSR card on completion of the Basic Tower Climbing and Rescue course.

EUSR registration on this scheme is valid for 1 year from the date of training programme and assessment completion.

Registration renewal on EUSR is required after 1 year and is dependent upon you being able to demonstrate continued competence evidenced through the completion of the 1-day annual renewal programme.

Ideal candidates:

You should book this course if you or your employees are new to the telecommunications industry, and you have an interest in climbing, tower rescue, and working on masts or towers or require a tower climbing certification.

  • This scheme also complies with BS8454:2006 – Code of Practice for the delivery of training and education for work at height and rescue.
