Abrasive Wheels Training
This Abrasive Wheels training course is designed for workers who use abrasive wheels in the workplace, especially in the construction and trades industry.
On completion of our abrasive wheels course, candidates will have an understanding of the safety regulations covering abrasive wheels and good working practices that will hopefully prevent the candidates from sustaining injuries or accidents due to abrasive wheels. An abrasive wheels certificate will also be awarded to the successful candidate.

Course Content
The Provision & Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER98) . Apply to all work at with abrasive wheels where there is a risk liable to cause personal injury.
These regulations place duties on employers, the self-employed, and any person that controls the work of others (for example facilities managers or building owners who may contract others to working with abrasive wheels).
Our abrasive wheels training provides information on the following :-
- Health and Safety at legislation and Approved Code of practice
- Identification and inspection of equipment as well as the reporting procedures
- Identifying potentially hazardous situations
- PPE selection and use
- Guarding, storage and handling of abrasive wheels
- Types of abrasive and understanding the importance of selecting the appropriate equipment
- Practical fitting of abrasive wheels
Ideal candidates for Abrasive Wheels:
Our abrasive wheels training is designed for workers in the construction and trades industry who use portable tools that have an abrasive or cutting wheel, commonly known as angle grinders, grinding wheels, cut-off saws, disc cutters, skill saws, Stihl saws, con saws or ‘whizzers’. This course can be used by people working in high-risk environments as a general introduction alongside suitable supplementary, hazards specific training.
Course adaptation:
We can adapt all of our training courses to suit the operational requirements of your business and include both practical and theory sessions. We can deliver these courses, at short notice, to companies, organisations and groups of individuals and fit the course content to your existing work shift patterns. Our courses can be delivered in our offices in Tavistock, Devon or Lichfield, Staffordshire. We can also come and deliver these courses in your own workplace for your employees convenience.
We are also happy to teach these courses early morning, late evening or overnight modules as needed.

Assessment & Certification:
Assessment will be ongoing throughout the course via trainer observation.
Once you have shown practical and knowledge understanding, a multi-choice question paper and practical assessment will be undertaken before your abrasive wheels certificate is awarded.
